Collaboration with International/Regional Organizations

Strategic collaboration and networking with appropriate international organizations, including United Nations (UN) specialised agencies, regional/national level organizations, including governmental/non-governmental, in both the developed and developing countries is one of the functions of the Organization to make consorted endeavors towards accelerating agriculture and rural development in the member countries. AARDO has alraedy entered into the agreemnts with Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), Sudan; Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), Zambia; D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8), Turkey; International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID), New Delhi, India; International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), Philippines; International Centre for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF), also known as “World Forestry Centre”, Kenya; Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Republic of Korea; International Tropical Fruits Network (TFNet), Malaysia, etc. for mutual cooperation. Besides, AARDO has been accorded observer status by a number of regional and international organizations including UN agencies such as FAO, UNDP, UNESCO, etc. The Organization would continue its staretgic collaboration with these institutions and other similar organizations during the triennium 2021-2023 and extended year 2024.
