AARDO has been working in the field of rural and agriculture development for more than fifty years in Afriquen-Asian region in a variety of areas. This, among others, includes capacity building programmes, Affectation des Experts/Consultantss, study visits, research studies, Projets Pilotes De Développement , collaboration and networking with other organizations, documentation of information resources including e-documentation services, etc. Besides, the Organization has a data bank of more than 120 experts who are specializing in different subjects like Agricultural Engineering, Agribusiness, Horticulture, Livestock, Rural Development, Rural Entrepreneurship, Crops Management, Agricultural Development, Irrigation, Small and Medium Enterprises, Micro Credit, etc. and their services are utilized as and when required. In addition, there are 27 AARDO's Centres of Excellence which are conducting national/international training programmes in the field of rural and agriculture development.

Backed by the solid experience and availability of services, AARDO envisages to enter into the areas of consultancy services to any company/organization/corporation at national, regional and international level in line with its policies and programmes. This will help to mobilize additional financial resources. In the past also, AARDO had raised additional resources by implementing activities on behalf of other organizations. For example, AARDO had implemented Poverty Alleviation Training for Asia and the Pacific (PATAP) for capacity building of the Project Managers of IFAD funded projects in South Asia. Similarly, on the occasion of Golden Jubilee Celebration in 2012 and prior to that in 2007, AARDO Secretariat had generated revenue from advertisement to partially fund its publications.

TERI SCHOOL OF ADVANCE STUDIES, INDIA "Deemed to be University"

The TERI School of Advanced Studies (TERI SAS) was set up as a trust by TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute) – a not-for-profit, independent research institute recognized globally for its contribution to scientific and policy research in the realms of energy, environment, and sustainable development in 1998. in 1999, it was granted "Deemed to be University" status by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India.

Objective : The objective of the TERI SAS is to build capacity around various themes of sustainable development by adopting an inter-disciplinary approach and incorporating the most contemporary, research-based evidence into the curriculum. Since its inception, the TERI SAS has offered not just world-class education, but also an environment that enables its students to develop fresh perspective in their subject areas.

School has structured its academic programmes around the research experience and skill sets gained by TERI over the past three decades. Since its inception, the wide array of academic programs related to sustainable development and structured around four thematic areas - Biotechnology, Regulatory & Policy aspects, Energy & Environment and Natural Resources.

TERI School of Advanced Studies is the first of its kind in India to dedicate itself to the study of environment, energy and natural sciences for sustainable development.

The University draws on about 30 research staff of TERI who are qualified with Ph.Ds and rich experience of working on projects related to regulatory studies, policy research, bio resources, biotechnology, energy and environment. These researchers work as adjunct faculty in the University.

The University offers Ph.D. programmes in areas related to Sustainable Development. Agrinnovate India Ltd. (AgIn) incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956 (No. 1 of 1956) on 19th October, 2011, is a “for profit” Company owned by Department of Agricultural Research & Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. It aims to work on the strengths of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and promote the development and spread of R&D outcomes through Intellectual Property Right (IPR) protection, commercialization and forging partnerships both within India and outside for the public benefit.
