The silver lining in the COVID -19 pandemic is that it has not only boosted up ICT and e-transactions, but has given a clarion call to speed up and scale up the transfer of innovations, disruptive as well as contemporary affordable technologies in AARDO Member countries, for effective rural transformation, resilience building and inclusive growth. Indeed, immense scope and potential for development of innovative affordable technologies and their adaptation have to be fully tapped to help AARDO member countries to overcome present and impending challenges. Rural areas of AFRICA AND ASIA need speedy access to affordable, innovative and disruptive technologies and indeed require game changers, adaptive and innovative solutions for Rural Transformation
AARDO has provided a prominent place for rural technology dissemination and an ecosystem, aiming at raising awareness with respect to importance and application of rural technologies, has been conceived to assist member countries in achieving UNSDGs and AU 2063.In this vein, to back up the transfer of knowledge, being so far successfully implemented by AARDO’s HRD and other programmes, a compendium/basket of technologies has being compiled in the form of dynamic database of innovative technologies captioned as “Affordable Technology Menu” (ATM). The ATM conceptually has three verticals/categories, wherein available technologies for transfer as well as the innovative technology are parked.
The esteemed Institutes/Universities are requested to consider, sharing at this stage, a few Innovative and disruptive technologies in the field of Agricultural and Rural Development as well as technologies available with government sponsored academic and research institutions, preferably in the format of the attached document, to form part of verticals (I), and (II) in the proposed Affordable Technology Menu (ATM).
