AARDO Secretariat has a specialized Library, which has been designed and developed as a specific research and reference centre on rural and agricultural development, focusing on the African-Asian region.
The Library has succeeded in acquiring a wide collection of books/reports on agriculture and rural development, irrigation management, women empowerment, climate change etc. The collections are enormous and diverse-ranging from books, seminar/workshop reports, journals and periodicals. Currently, the Library maintains a collection of eight thousand printed titles. Regular purchase of books and complimentary copies, from different quarters including UN agencies / other regional bodies, constantly expands the holdings of the Library.
The AARDO Library will continue to be
sourcing latest books/reports, Policy Brief/Occasional Paper and periodicals from
various national/international organizations on subjects
specifically relating to technical activities of the Oragnization and providing indexing, cataloguing and e-journals links services through the AARDO
website.
The listing of all collections are user-friendly as it is computerized and users can access the bibliographic information of the library holdings easily. The Library also identified several e-journals on agriculture and rural development and linked with AARDO website. Besides that, the AARDO Library regularly searches and circulates latest articles on agriculture and allied subjects.
Journals and periodicals are housed in a separate Periodicals Section within the Library, which currently maintains a collection of 43 national/international journals and periodicals in English. All AARDO publications (latest and back issues) are available in the Library for reference.
